York's Little Festival of Live Music in running for awards
Ellen Cole, Festival Director of York’s Little Festival of Live Music says: “I was shocked that our family-friendly music festival and myself have been nominated in four categories – Yorkshire’s Outstanding New Festival of the Year, Yorkshire’s Outstanding Promoter of the Year, Yorkshire’s Outstanding Individual and the People’s Choice Award. We were so close to claiming the regional Outstanding Festival of the Year title last year, so this year we’re striving to be number one in this category.
“Our aim as a festival is to generate a wide range of live music events which are family-friendly, accessible for all and more importantly provides our audiences with a great musical experience.

I am so happy with what we have achieved and that we are helping encourage more audiences to go out and watch live music locally. We would be over the moon if anyone would consider voting for us in the Yorkshire Gig Guide Awards, voting is free and an award win would mean that the work we do will be recognised on a regional level.”
2017 is shaping to be a hugely successful year for York’s Little Festival of Live Music. Earlier on in the year, the festival put on a one-off Girl Power Mini-Fest, which attracted audiences from across Yorkshire and beyond.
The main event, which will take place alongside the York Food and Drink Festival on Parliament Street from September 22-30, attracted 511 applications from acts across the country eager to perform.
The Festival team are currently in the process of whittling the acts down from 511 to 28 acts and the line-up for the 2017 event is expected to be announced next week.
