A lone flugelhorn player paid tribute to Britain's fallen soldiers at Pudsey War Memorial today.
More than 50 people and 100 primary school children turned out at 11am to mark the 90th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War.

Sixteen-year-old James Higham, of West Leeds Scouts, played the Last Post and the morning call Reveille, which were followed by a one-minute silence.

He said: "It's important that we don't forget people who have died in wars. We should never forget what happened.

"Flugel playing runs in the family – my granddad did it and it's something that means a lot to me."

Poppy wreaths were laid and tributes were made at the memorial, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month – the date when the Armistice was signed in 1918.

Frank Robertson, 84, President of the Pudsey and Farsley branch of the Royal British Legion, said: "We will remember the fallen. Lest we forget."
