Leicester City 3 Leeds United 1: Player Ratings - Captain Hernandez leads by example
But how did YEP chief football writer Phil Hay rate the performances?
Felix Wiedwald - An outing which won’t do his claim to a regular starting place any good. Indecisive for Leicester’s first goal and failed to spread confidence to the defence. 5/10

Hide AdVurnon Anita - Dealt fairly well with Gray in the first half, forcing the winger inside, but City were a big threat down the right in the second half. 5/10
Pontus Jansson - A mixed bag. Some good defensive work but communication was lacking for the first goal and still doesn’t look like the Jansson of old. 5/10
Conor Shaughnessy - Looked content early on but became very stretched as Leicester’s quality started to tell. Was always going to face a hard examination. 5/10
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson - A decent, stable showing from a left-back who needed to play well. But injury got him at half-time. 6/10

Hide AdKalvin Phillips - Didn’t look out of place against Leicester’s midfield and chipped away until Christiansen replaced but Leicester’s dominance was too much in the end. 6/10
Mateusz Klich - Started well but tailed off as City grew in confidence and got on top of Christiansen’s side. Yet to really shine. 5/10
Kemar Roofe - A nice, lively start which helped Leeds to get themselves in front but did not have enough to work with after that. 6/10
Pablo Hernandez - Leeds’ captain, the oldest player on pitch, and played in that spirit. A fine goal and did everything he could to drive United on. 7/10

Hide AdPawel Cibicki - Very timid and never got more than the briefest touch of the ball. Will need to jump a few levels before he breaks into the Championship picture. 5/10
Jay-Roy Grot - As good as he’s been for Leeds initially, although the balance of the game didn’t help him after Leicester equalised and he faded. 6/10
Substitutes:
Luke Ayling (for Borthwick-Jackson, 46) - Wasn’t able to track Iheanacho before Slimani struck but offered a bit more momentum in attack. 6/10
Hadi Sacko (for Cibicki, 65) - The right player at the right time and made the odd burst forward but to no great effect. 5/10

Hide AdRonaldo Vieira (for Phillips, 71) - Sent on as Slimani scored and with Vardy joining Leicester’s attack, Leeds were clutching at straws in hope of a reprieve. 5/10
Subs (not used): Andy Lonergan, Matthew Pennington, Gjanni Alioski, Pierre-Michel Lasogga
Referee: Lee Probert (WIltshire) - About as uncontentious a display as you’ll see. The odd thing to quibble with but kept his nose clean. 7/10
