Marcelo Bielsa' s outfit are yet to pick up a point or even score a goal in 2021 and head to St James' Park looking to kick off the year after a stunning 2020 for the club.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are winless in 10 games across all competition, a run which started in the 5-2 reverse at the hands of the Whites at Elland Road just last month.
Steve Bruce is expected to opt for two up front, which should see Marcelo Bielsa go with a back three in the North East.
Here's how we think Leeds will line-up against the Magpies, in a 3-3-1-3 formation which can alternate into a 4-1-4-1 if required...
1. GK - Meslier
One of the changes. After missing out following a period of isolation, Illan Meslier should return in goal.
2. CB - Ayling
Should play as part of a central back three with Newcastle opting for two up top recently.
3. CB/CDM
Was also missing last time out due to a suspension. Could slot into the heart of defence or take up his usual role. Expected to be the former.
4. CB - Cooper
Club captain. Usually starts if fit.
5. WB/RB - Dallas
Likely to play a little further forward from the back three as a wing-back. United's ultimate utility man.
6. WB/LB - Alioski
Same applies to Gjanni. Should be deployed as an extra winger, essentially.
