Koch, 26, has become the latest big name to show his support and recently visited their sports and employment programme ‘Street League’ where he experienced the transformational role football plays in society.

The Leeds man has said: “For me it is a great honour to be able to act as an ambassador for Laureus Sport for Good from now on. At the same time it is also a commitment for me, the foundation and the other ambassadors to work together to help disadvantaged children as much as possible.

“I have long been passionate about helping children who don’t have it so easy in life and supporting them to realise their dreams and achieve their goals. I am already active in Leeds for the Leeds Children’s Charity and also in talking to Laureus Sport for Good I quickly realised that this will be a strong partnership for the right values.

“I know from my own experience the great importance of sport in our society and how important it can be for children and young people. Sport, especially football, has also given me a lot in my life, for example now the opportunity to help others.”

Koch joined Leeds back in 2020 from Bundesliga side Freiburg and his commitment to Laureus Sport for Good shows he is not only doing good work on the pitch. Other ambassadors include Pep Guardiola, Juan Mata, Deco, Vincent Del Bosque and Edwin van der Sar.
