The Whites played host to their bitter rivals for a clash in which neither side could ultimately find a breakthrough.
For Leeds, however, it means that they have taken five points from a possible nine against Manchester City, Liverpool, and United in their last three matches.
Sunday’s result also left them ninth in the table with just five games left to play.
Marcelo Bielsa was left extremely pleased with his side’s efforts too.
"For the game not to become unbalanced the team made a massive effort. This effort allowed the game not to become unbalanced. I insist I value a lot everything we did so the game didn't become unbalanced.
"What was moving was the effort the team made. A game like today, if we didn't bring this big energy we wouldn't be able to balance it.
"It's true as the game grew the spaces opened up and there was more clarity for us to go and think we could attack.
"But I think the draw was a sufficient reward given how the game went."
Leeds’ next match will be against Brighton on Saturday afternoon, with the Seagulls losing to Sheffield United last time out.
