Yorkshire nostalgia: Paul Shane from Hi-de-Hi told to lay low... in 1985
Actor Paul Shane, pictured, then 45, who died in 2013 aged 72, was under doctor's orders to rest up after suffering a trapped nerve. The work-aholic actor had not taken a proper holiday in over six years.
He was most famous for playing Ted Bovis in hit comedy series Hi-De-Hi. His funeral took place in his home town of Rotherham.
Shane was a miner before he moved into acting. He had to retire from the pit after he slipped in the showers.
