Volunteers help light up Leeds
Marie Curie recruited nearly 120 volunteers to hold collections across the city centre as part of its 30th annual Great Daffodil Appeal, which runs throughout this month.
Six landmark buildings – the Queen’s Hotel, the First Direct Arena, the O2 Academy, Bridgewater Place and Leeds University’s Laidlaw Library and multi storey car park – were lit up yellow in support.

The charity is still counting the cash collected on Saturday but hopes to have raised £10,000 to fund the work of nurses who care for people with terminal illnesses.
