Homes left without water after water main bursts during Morley Bottoms pedestrianisation work

Huge spouts of water gushed skywards throughout the day as builders dug into the road at Brunswick Street.
Yorkshire Water apologised to customers who were left without water or with low water pressure.

Hide AdBuilders moved in at the start of the month as part of a plan to pedestrianise the Morley Bottoms area.

Although the work is causing some disruption in the area, Martin, who runs a street food business in Prospect Bar, welcomed the changes in the town.

Hide AdHe said: "Personally, it's been absolutely fine till last night.
"It's a good thing for Morley bottoms and the bars down this side of town.
"I own a small business down here and it will be fantastic for summer when we hopefully get to open."
Yorkshire Water tweeted yesterday afternoon: "We're really sorry but customers may have low pressure or no water due to a burst main. We're urgently working on repairs.

Hide Ad"Once restored, water may be cloudy or discoloured, this will return to normal shortly after and you can help clear this by running your tap for a few minutes."
They provided an update on Monday at 9pm, tweeting: "Great news! Repairs are now complete and supplies should be restored to the area. If customers are experiencing discoloured water, please see below link for more information."
