Stepping up for '˜stampede'
The “Horsforth Horses” are now ready for decorating and over the coming weeks local schools and other community groups will create one off works of ‘Horse-forth’ art.
Once finished they will be arranged around the town as part of the Horsforth Walk of Art on July 2 and 3.

The annual event features artists, exhibitors and hands-on activities for children at various locations throughout the town.
Organisers say this year’s event will be even bigger and better and will include a yarn bombed caravan and children’s drive-in cinema.
This year the theme is horses since the name Horsforth comes from ‘Horse Ford’.

Hide AdThe Horsforth Horses are the product of a team effort; local artist Caroline Winterbottom from Made in the Middle Illustration designed the horses, which are made from recycled materials and wood donated by Hardisty Estate agents. The shapes were cut out by local craftsman Richard Smith and volunteers and will be decorated by schools and community groups. Keeping it all in check is Catherine Bradley, the official stampede coordinator.
