It is shocking to think that a woman living in Adel and Wharfedale is going to live 14 years longer than her counterpart in Burmantofts and Richmond Hill.
These are not just statistics - the cold reality is ultimately these are peoples’ lives.
And unless we finally get a grip of this issue it will continue to place a higher demand on our city’s healthcare services.
