Security guard punched as masked suspects rob cash transit van at Swarcliffe Co-op
Police were called at 2.10pm today (Thursday) to a robbery at the Co-op on Swarcliffe Avenue.
A security guard carrying a cashbox had been confronted and punched in the face, before the cashbox was stolen.

Hide AdThree masked suspects left the scene in a black Volvo with false registration plates M19MCH.
Police officers say the security guard was not seriously injured but was left shaken after the attack.
The Co-op is closed until further notice and police officers are at the scene carrying out forensic examination.

Hide AdDetective Inspector Phil Jackson, of Leeds District CID, said: “The security guard was not seriously injured but was left shaken after being attacked and robbed by these men.
“We are carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has seen the vehicle involved.”
