St Cecilia Place will be located on the site of the Quarry Hill flats that were demolished over four decades ago and will include a mixed-use set of facilities, from apartments to commercial units and amenity spaces.

The new development will bring three interlinked buildings of 19, 20, and 22 floors, connected through pairs of eight-storey structures, which have been designed to complement recent local development, such as the new Leeds City College.
DLA Architecture has worked on other major development plans in Leeds, like the Majestic Building and the Emerald Headingley Stadium.
St Cecilia Place will include 352 built-to-rent residential apartments, ranging from studios, one-bed, two-bed, and three-bed apartments, and a communal leisure space on the ground floor.

The development will complete the wider Quarry Hill masterplan to link Leeds’s cultural quarter which includes Leeds Playhouse, the Northern Ballet and the Leeds College of Music Auditorium.
DLA Architecture Director Sue Sparling said the scheme was designed to recognise “the historic building fabric and characteristics of the island site” while also offering a modern approach to city living.
She added the amenity space will include “large communal roof gardens creating vibrant spaces with far reaching views of the wider city”.

This was achieved through an extensive wind analysis and a wind tunnel assessment carried out by the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
The site on St Cecilia Street is currently used for car parking, with over 400 parking spaces available.
Upon completion, St Cecilia Place will offer 352 apartments, 74 parking spaces, an amenity space, and commercial units.
