ALL the Parliament front benchers, such as Yvette Cooper, say is that the Tories have no policies while blaming global events for Labour's woes.
As soon as the opposition come up with good policies, they are camouflaged by Gordon Brown and co and launched in a blaze of glory as their own.
Also, Yvette, next time you are interviewed on TV, could you please explain to us what the following hav
e to do with global issues: pension funds smash and grab; biggest national debt ever; biggest personal debt ever; selling gold reserves on the cheap; uncontrolled immigration in the past; no control over house price fiasco; erosion of Britain's social network by continued closure of pubs and clubs.

Labour's pride

I AM not a staunch supporter of any political party, but I do believe that on the whole, Labour has done a splendid job.
When Tony Blair was prime minister with Gordon Brown as chancellor we had the most prolonged, steady and stable economy that this country has ever known.
And also let's be grateful to Labour for its policies of encouraging children to participate in after-school activities; that task having been made more difficult by the action of the Conservative party selling off most of our school playing fields. But don't let us dwell in the past, just let us all congratulate Labour and the Olympic teams for great results at the Olympic games.

Costly cherries

YEARS ago I used to buy cherries at the back of the market. I would get a big bag for £1.
Last week I sent my granddaughter to the local stores to buy cherries. The cost for 250g was £2.98. Inside were 27 cherries, making each cherry over 10p.
Come on, where is the justice in this – can anyone explain?

Vanishing act

WE don't see much of Paul Daniels on TV these days. I think the nearest thing we have to a decent illusionist is David Cameron. I'm looking forward to his smoke and mirrors speech at the Tory Party Conference, accompanied by George (the lovely Debbie) Osborne.
