Leeds United have pleaded guilty to a Football Association charge of using an unlicensed agent during their purchase of Anthony Elding from Stockport County.
United were hit with the charge on Friday and were given until today to respond to the allegation that they breached the FA's strict rules on agents during Elding's move to Leeds in January.

The breach surrounded the involvement of Lorenzo Paolo, an unregistered representative, in the negotiations which secured Elding's transfer from Stockport, and United are likely to face a financial penalty as a result of their guilty plea.

The Elland Road club have requested a personal hearing with the FA and have once again confirmed that no payment was made to Paolo during or after Elding's transfer.

A statement from Leeds read: "Leeds United can confirm that the club has pleaded guilty to the Football Association charge of using an unlicensed agent in respect of the transfer of Anthony Elding from Stockport County in January 2008."
