Hide AdIt is a rise of 643 confirmed cases from the same time on Wednesday, the Department of Health said.
As of 1pm, 144 patients in the UK who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, with 29 new deaths in England reported today.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Italy rose to 3,405, overtaking the total number of deaths so far registered in China.
